Description
To create Ceylon tea of the Pekoe category, only young tea leaves are used. Only the first two are taken directly from the top of the branch. The most delicious tea of this variety is grown in the vicinity of the former capital of Sri Lanka (then Ceylon) – the ancient city of Kandy. Tea plantations are located in the foothills, at an altitude of 600 to 900 m above sea level. The temperate climate of the area with an abundance of sunlight is extremely favorable for growing tea bushes. Unlike tea harvested from the high-altitude Ceylon plantations, Ceylon Kandy Pekoe tea has a bright, rich, invigorating taste and a long pure aroma. The brew gives a thick, richly colored, strong tonic infusion.
