Description
Green radish is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Cabbage family. This root crop came to us from the Mediterranean coast. The Romans and Greeks bred the radish, and the Egyptians appreciated and unusually extolled the taste and medicinal properties of this vegetable. In Rus', green radish was also incredibly popular, although it was considered the usual food of poor peasants.
Green radish is not as bitter as black radish. It has a soft juicy texture and a pleasant mild taste. The skin of the root crop is green or light green in color with a white tip, the flesh is light green, slightly bitter with a smell characteristic of any radish.
